Senior Data Engineer (ETL, DWH)

Currently, we are looking for a Data Engineer with expertise in ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and Data Warehousing to join our team working with this esteemed client.

Our customer is Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev), the biggest brewery company in the world. We own over 630 beer brands (including Budweiser, Stella Artois, Hoegaarden, Beck’s, Leffe, Chernigivske) in 150 countries and are considered to cover 28% of the global beer market worldwide. European HQ is in Leuven, Belgium.

Project

Our solutions cover different areas of AB InBev activities, such as sales, marketing, and logistics with a strong focus on commercial function.

The group of our enterprise BI systems has common architecture and goals:

• Aggregate data from several data source systems, primarily from SalesForce and SAP
• Process and store them in DWH (currently using Azure cloud, Snowflake, Hadoop, Talend), create all needed pre-aggregated data which can be used for analytics purposes
• Process using Azure Data Lake and Hadoop, aiming to create all needed pre-aggregated data which can be used for analytics purposes
• Design analytics level using Qlik or PowerBi

• Skills in relational and dimensional data modeling using data design tools; understanding of data profiling, data quality management, and data cataloging
• Experience in cloud platforms, especially Microsoft Azure OR Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Expertise in building enterprise-grade ETL on Microsoft Azure Services: ADLS, ADF, ADO, etc
• Deep knowledge of Azure Synapse Analytics (formerly Azure DWH)
• Proficiency in working with T-SQL
• Good understanding of slowly changing dimensions
• Experience with PolyBase
• Familiarity with Talend: support existing and create new jobs, Talend Management Console
• Conceptual comprehension of Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Delta Lake, and Data Mesh, and the differences among them
• Knowledge of Python, PySpark (Databricks)
• Understanding of sources, data transformation, and calculations to investigate Power BI requests without involving a Power BI developer

Will be a plus

• Experience in connecting to heterogeneous sources, including SAP ECC, Hadoop, Hive, Amazon, Azure, Salesforce, and SAP, among others
• Development experience in Talend Big Data Edition on Hadoop or BODS
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum

• Working with stakeholders and clients to define project scope, goals, and deliverables
• Developing project plans and schedules, ensuring alignment with business objectives
• Providing technical expertise and guidance to team members by assisting with problem-solving, code reviews, and best practices
• Supporting a collaborative environment within the team and between global teams, encouraging knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration
• Ensuring the quality of the results by implementing testing processes, data validation, and adherence to data quality standards
• Continuously improving team processes, evaluating tools and methodologies to optimize productivity and efficiency
• Assisting in documentation for all aspects of the project, including requirements, design solutions, and specifications
