Middle Python Software Engineer

Our project is connected to the leading multi-factor authentication (MFA) and secure access provider. We believe that security should help people get their jobs done, not stand in their way. That means making it easy for our customers to configure policies that change the level of access or trust based on user and device context – minimizing friction while still providing strong security against attacks. At the heart of every of these access decisions lies our project policy engine. That’s why we’re forming a new team to build the next generation of policy for our customers.

• Proficient with Python for at least 3 years
• Experienced with one of the following frameworks: Django, Flask, or FastAPI
• Familiar with implementing and maintaining microservice architecture
• Confident in unit, integration and e2e testing
• Strongly knowledgeable of AWS services such as RDS, EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, Lambda, or comparable services in other cloud platforms
• Well-versed with SQL databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL)
• Experienced in containerization and orchestration with Docker
• Aware of deployment strategies and cloud-based deployment
• Well-versed with CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or GitHub Actions
• Successfully working with monitoring and logging services (e.g. AWS CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana)
• Capable of maintaining daily communication with English-speaking software engineers on the client side
• Familiar with cybersecurity principles and best practices, especially how they apply to backend development (will be a plus)
• Experienced with proxies and network security (would be an advantage)
• Familiar with identity access and management: SSO, 2FA, MF, LDAP, SCIM, AD (which will be a plus)

• Extend our project service solutions into customer environments and primary identity stores
• Use a combination of Python (85%), JavaScript and React (15%) to deliver an exceptional user experience that is secure and unobtrusive
• Emphasize software craftsmanship and apply it to our development practices through testing, Continuous Integration, build automation, and mentorship
• Prioritize team success highest and tend to swarm on sprint work to meet our shared goals
• Learn and contribute to our team in a meaningful way
• Interact with integrating tools for continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to streamline the development lifecycle
• Enhance monitoring and alerting systems to ensure high availability and performance of the applications
• Leverage AWS services for log processing and data analysis to effectively identify and resolve system bottlenecks, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of the web applications
