Job Title: Sociological Researcher Project Name: Strategic Communications Support to the Government of Ukraine Job Type: Consultant Location of Position: Kyiv, Ukraine Reporting to: Research and Analysis Team Lead in Ukraine. Remuneration: Fees are subject to negotiation and shall not exceed established market rates. Indicative LOE/Time Frame: Full-Time, February 2025 - March 2026. For contracting (after the job offer is made), the selected candidate is expected to be registered as a Private Entrepreneur of the 3d group (consultancy services). Citizenship: Ukraine. About the Work: The expert will ensure all activities are delivered on time and are appropriately documented. S/he is expected to work closely with the Analytical Lead in Ukraine and participate in relevant project meetings.

• Contributes to the Research and Analysis team activities as directed by the Research and Analysis Team Lead.
• Participates in and contributes to identification of appropriate research goals and requirements based on end needs of the project.
• Proposes mix of research methods to address goals and needs of the project, following consultation with relevant project stakeholders, including but to limited to:
• Audience segmentation and developing audience profiles united by similar socio-demographic, values and behavioral characteristics.
• Testing narratives, messaging, CTA (calls to action) and products to support design of communication campaigns.
• Identifying trends in public opinion and attitudes towards key issues.
• Evaluating efficiency of strategic communications.
• Designing terms of references for internal and external research providers, including for qualitative and quantitative research interventions.
• Reviews incoming datasets, keynote reports and other deliverables produced by internal and external research providers and ensures quality assurance and quality control of such deliverables. Provides feedback and support in coordination with the Research and Analysis Team Lead.
• Monitors, reviews, collates and manages multiple data reporting inputs to deliver high-quality analytical reports based on end-user needs.
• Plans and delivers analysis of data using traditional (SPSS, R, Stata) and non-traditional (AI-driven) software and tools and identifies key findings.
• Works with the broader team to produce thematic multi-source research reports, analytical notes and other products as required.
• Contributes to broader project Monitoring Evaluation and Learning through participation in learning sprints, review of related outputs/outcomes, identifying lessons and developing parts of regular reporting.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in social science or related area. A Masters degree is an advantage.
• At least 7 years of experience in research design/implementation using mixed methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience working with broader research and analysis teams and research providers.
• Track record of working in international teams is an advantage.

• Strong analytical skills and experience interpreting data and identifying trends.
• Demonstrated experience in design and delivery of research projects.
• Proven experience with survey design, data analysis and statistical modeling. Experience with audience segmentation is an advantage.
• Proficiency in statistical analysis using software (SPSS, Stata, R, etc.).
• Experience in designing qualitative research including but not limited to focus groups, interviews social media listening.

• Solid understanding of complex social political environment in Ukraine.
• Experience in working with international development organizations is an advantage.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience producing and delivering reports.
• Superb organizational, interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
• Experience of working at or with sociological providers in Ukraine and internationally is an advantage.
