Join our dynamic trading team at Axpo as a Power Trader. In this role, you will play a pivotal role in implementing and optimizing trading strategies to maximize profits through insightful and strategic cross-border arbitrage, as well as local trading activities. Your expertise will contribute to the company’s leadership in the energy sector, specifically focusing on the Ukrainian and neighboring power markets.

We also welcome submission of candidates without experience in power/gas, but with strong analytical skills. Company is open for consideration a candidate for a position of Junior Power Trader or Power Trader Support.

• Implement, execute, monitor, and improve trading strategies for electrical power, focusing on both cross-border trading and local market activities.
• Support all the power trading activities from counterparty setup to power nominations and bid/offer submissions.
• Generate maximum profit through strategic trading decisions, leveraging quantitative models and market analysis.
• Manage and evaluate trading positions, identify opportunities and risks, and ensure compliance with both internal and external standards.
• Engage in negotiations and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders to maximize trading opportunities.
• Participate actively in the exchange and ensure accurate regulatory reporting and compliance.
• Submission of regulatory reports to National Energy Regulator.

• University degree in Engineering, Math, Physics, Chemistry, Economics, or related fields with a strong numerical background.
• Proven experience in commodity trading, particularly in electrical power, gas, or other commodities is welcomed.
• In-depth knowledge of the economics of the Ukrainian power market and familiarity with the markets of neighboring countries like Slovakia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, and Moldova are welcomed.
• Exceptional analytical skills and proficiency in using advanced Excel.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and self-management skills, with a dedicated approach to quality and precision.
• Fluency in English (B2 level or higher).
