Senior Data Analyst

Our Client is a leading managed WordPress hosting platform, providing businesses with the speed, security, and reliability they need to thrive online. Their platform simplifies and automates many of the complex tasks associated with managing a WordPress website, allowing businesses to focus on creating great content and growing their audience.

These data assets will be used across business & data analytics teams and become the core repository for their data needs. Our team is at the intersection of these groups and is responsible for delivering trusted, robust, and valuable data assets.

• Having 5+ years of commercial software engineering experience
• Working for 3+ years on delivering data assets
• Strong in an engineering-focused role, preferably developing in Python
• Familiar with one of the major cloud data warehouses (GCloud, Azure, AWS)
• Having an advanced understanding of how to organize and normalize data (data modeling) through data build tool (dbt)
• Strong in BigQuery
• Skilled in automation through testing and tooling resulting in high-confidence delivery
• Hands-on with SQL, capable of writing clean, readable, high-quality code, along with SQL debugging skills, and query performance optimization
• Good at understanding and converting business requirements into data models
• Working within an Agile team, delivering iterative value every sprint
• Effective working with a remote team across multiple time zones
• Excellent in communication, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team

• Work closely with business stakeholders to design valuable data models
• Develop, deliver, and maintain dbt code to advance our unified analytics model as the trusted source for valuable data
• Create and maintain system, data, and architectural documentation related to data assets (ERDs) maintained by analytics engineering
• Review code contributions to the unified analytics model, educate on best practices and hygiene that lead to healthy data models
• Identify and develop process improvements that result in an improved analytics engineering practice
• Write test cases that ensure continued high-quality data is surfaced and protected from changes
• Manage and improve our CI/CD practice to automate the delivery of high-quality code
• Maintain high-quality data assets through best practices and standards
• Drive improvements in code quality and development across the team

• Aid in the designing and development of a payment platform
• Always be looking for process improvement to improve delivery
