About the internship:

We seek an open-minded, curious and skilful Intern to work on monitoring, research, and analytical support to the analytical team leveraging AI to anticipate communication risks and opportunities in the face of malign information influence.

The internship will last for 2 summer months, with an expected part-time commitment. Interns will receive comprehensive training, equipping them with all the practical skills and knowledge necessary for a career in analytics. The internship is unpaid; however, involves multiple bonuses the most outstanding intern will be offered a part-time or full-time Junior Analyst position at LetsData after the program.

All interns will receive a Letter of Recommendation from LetsData, acknowledging their hard work and contributions.

Starting Date: as soon as possible but not later than the 1 of July.

Location: Remote.

Given the currently expanding work, LetsData is looking for interns to support its activities on several projects related to media discourse and malign information operations in online media and social networks, including disinformation and hate speech.

Responsibilities:

• Support in tracking sociopolitical public discourse in Ukraine and abroad.
• Analyse Russian malign information operations in media outlets and social media platforms.
• Contribute to analytical articles and papers, as well as transform complicated research insights into an easy to comprehend format.
• Together with the team, transform analytical insights into practical guidance and recommendations.
• Present key findings to various stakeholders.

Your skills and experience:

• Current students interested in analytics.
• Professional fluency in English is mandatory. All analysis is written in English. Additional languages, particularly Romanian, will be an advantage.
• Ability to be flexible, learn and self-study.
• Previous experience in non-profit, government, PR companies and/or universities conducting applied research is an asset.
• Experience with data visualisation (Flourish etc.) is an asset.

Overall, using AI to analyse modern information space is quite exciting; thus, an open mind, passion for discovery and a desire to learn are what we are looking for.
