DataMatrix is a part of EveryMatrix platform that is responsible for collecting, storing, processing and utilizing hundreds of millions of transactions from the whole platform every single day. We develop Business Intelligent solutions, reports, 3rd party integrations, data streaming and other products for both external and internal use. The team consists of 35 people and is located in Lviv.

We are looking for motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our dynamic Data Engineering team as Trainee Data Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity for current students, recent graduates, or early-career professionals who are passionate about data and eager to develop their skills in SQL and Data Warehouse theory. As a Trainee Data Engineer, you will work closely with experienced engineers to design, build, and maintain our data infrastructure, ensuring it supports our business intelligence and analytics needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of data warehouse solutions.
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries to support data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes.
• Collaborate with senior data engineers to design data models and database structures.
• Participate in the creation and management of ETL pipelines to ensure efficient data flow and integration from various sources.
• Perform data quality checks to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Support the BI team in generating reports and dashboards by providing reliable and well-structured data.
• Document processes, workflows, and data models to ensure clear communication and knowledge sharing within the team.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Good knowledge of SQL, including complex query/stored procedure writing and optimization.
• Understanding of data warehouse concepts and theory, including schema design, star/snowflake schemas, and ETL processes.
• Basic knowledge of database management systems (DBMS) and experience with relational databases.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking abilities.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Work Life Balance:
