Accounting Financial Specialist at Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ)

Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) in Ukraine is seeking a qualified professional for the Country Office to fill the position of the:

Accounting Financial Specialist (full-time, Kyiv)

Key responsibilities include inter alia:

• Accounting for GIZ projects using the accounting software and ensuring compliance with the GIZ project management rules.
• End of month/ end of year books closing at the basis of the GIZ Procedures and Rules.
• Annual/monthly financial screening, monitoring of accounts receivable.
• Invoice checking in accordance with the GIZ procedures and rules.
• Conducting internet banking payments.
• Consultancy for and follow up of GIZ projects in Ukraine.
• Ensuring good communication and information flow both within the GIZ country office and with the projects.
• Effectively coordinating with the Country office’s finance team or relevant department at GIZ HQ.
• Uploading data and preparing reports with SAP software.
• Support in preparing processes for audits and internal control.

Required qualifications, competences and experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or similar degree.
• At least 3 years of proved professional experience as accountant.
• Native written and spoken Ukrainian; excellent command of English; knowledge of German shall be considered as a strong asset.
• In-depth knowledge of accounting principles.
• Good working knowledge of IT and communication technologies (related software, phone, email, the internet) and computer applications (e.g. MS Office).
• Confidential treatment of data and information.

Employment conditions

Full-time position with 40-hours working week. The contract duration is 1 year. Prolongation is possible. Starting as soon as possible.
