IT Business Analyst (Middle)

We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical IT Business Analyst to work closely with our business units and technology teams. The successful candidate will gather, analyze, and document business requirements, identify areas for improvement, and help implement solutions that drive our business goals. This position also plays a vital role in bridging the gap between the business and the technical personnel within a project team, helping the company achieve its goals.

Responsibilities:

• Gather and analyze business requirements. This involves working with stakeholders and users to understand their needs and expectations, as well as in-depth workflow analysis to identify areas for improvement and optimization.
• Document requirements (functional and non-functional). This includes creating clear and concise specifications and tasks for developers that outline the desired functionality of a system or process.
• Map and document business processes using diagramming tools and notations to create clear and concise visualizations that accurately represent the sequence of steps, decision points, and roles involved in each process.
• Design and implement solutions. You may be involved in designing and implementing solutions to improve business processes, such as new software systems or workflows.
• Maintain communication with stakeholders, the development team, the QA team, and end users throughout the project development lifecycle.
• Gather and analyze user feedback on product quality through surveys, interviews, and usability testing.
• Test and validate solutions. This involves working with the QA team to ensure that solutions meet the specified requirements.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of solutions. This involves tracking the performance of solutions and making recommendations for improvement.
• Identifying and assessing risks to projects and initiatives.

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience as a business analyst, design and implementation, and quality control of software applications (in a similar position at a software development company).
• Bachelors degree in a Business, Computer Science, or a related field is a plus.
• Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) phases, including planning, requirements gathering and analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Experience in requirements gathering and analysis.
• Strong technical writing, editing, and formatting skills with experience building and collaborating on documentation including Use Cases, and functional and non-functional requirements to clearly define system behavior and expectations.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools: This includes the ability to use software like Power BI, Tableau, or other similar tools to create clear, concise, and informative charts, graphs, and diagrams to communicate data insights and trends. These visualizations should effectively communicate complex data in a way that is easily understood by both technical and non-technical audiences. Using Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for basic data visualization is also acceptable
• Processes/software modeling tools and notations. This includes proficiency in using tools like Miro, draw.io, or other diagramming software.
• UML/BPMN. The ability to utilize standard modeling notations such as UML and BPMN is essential for effectively representing business processes and software functionality.
• Possesses strong analytical, problem-solving, and evaluative skills.
• Demonstrable ability to work independently, as well as collaborate and partner in a team environment with geographically dispersed peers.
• Constantly learns from both success and failure and is keen on experimenting with emerging technologies.
• As a plus understanding of relational databases: This includes a basic understanding of data structures, queries (SQL), and data manipulation in relational database management systems (RDBMS).
• An understanding of API design principles is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication; efficiently articulates technical vision, possibilities, and outcomes.
• Attention to detail and quality to fulfill responsibilities.
• Ability to work in conditions with a lack of information.
• Advanced English (Russian proficiency is highly preferable).
