ENGINEERING LEAD/MANAGER

Svitla Systems Inc. is looking for an Engineering Lead/Manager for a full-time position (40 hours per week) in Ukraine. Our client is a leading global provider of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance and risk management software, data, and consulting services focusing on Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHS&S), Operational Risk Management, and Product Stewardship. That means gathering information and reporting to improve the environmental and social impacts on the customer’s business. We are looking for a hands-on engineering leader to draw on their vast technical, leadership, and management experience to help ensure the growing team delivers consistent results by striving for continuous improvement in all aspects of people, process, and technology and to be an accountable voice for one or two squads to the broader organization. The Engineering Lead/Manager will coach the developers (conduct 1-1s, help recruit backfills, etc.) and ensure project delivery (help the team plan, track milestones, etc.). Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Masters degree preferred.

• SaaS experience and ideally familiar with one or more of our technology stack: Ruby/Django/React JS

• Strong Experience in software engineering.

• 4+ years experience in a leadership or management role.
• Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with agile development methodologies and project management tools.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a focus on delivering results.
• Experience working with ESG performance and risk management software is a plus.
• English - at least Upper-intermediate level.

Responsibilities:

• Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of engineers, providing guidance, coaching, and support to help them achieve their full potential.
• Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
• Technical Leadership: Provide technical direction and guidance to the team, helping to solve complex technical problems and drive innovation.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product management, design, and quality assurance, to ensure alignment and collaboration throughout the development process.
• Resource Management: Manage resource allocation and capacity planning to ensure optimal utilization of team members skills and expertise.
• Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve engineering processes and practices to increase efficiency, productivity, and quality.
• Recruitment and Onboarding: Participate in the recruitment and hiring process for new engineering team members, and facilitate their onboarding and integration into the team.
