Are you a creative thinker and are you passionate about storytelling? Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is looking for a Public Relations and Communications Specialist to develop and implement communication strategies to support our mission in Ukraine. This position is to be based in Kyiv, Ukraine and requires 30% of domestic and international travel. The actual salary offered for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including internal equity and the candidates qualifications and professional experience. HFHI offers a competitive, comprehensive benefits package. The monthly gross pay starts at 71 510 UAH/month (the final remuneration will be determined based on the candidates competence and experience, along with applicable benefits). What would be your responsibilities? Communication Strategy Development:
  • Develop and implement a communication strategy aligned with organizations global and local objectives to enhance public awareness to our programs in Ukraine.
  • Develop messaging that showcases HFHIs housing and community development impact, inspiring stakeholders to support our advocacy
Media Relations and Public Engagement:
  • Serve as the point of contact for media inquiries and manage relationships with local and international media and stakeholders .
  • Draft press releases, media kits, and talking points to ensure consistent communication.
  • Organize press conferences, media events, and public outreach activities to promote HFHIs mission.
Content Creation:
  • Create and edit engaging content, including articles, social media posts, newsletters, and impact stories, to showcase HFHIs work in Ukraine.
- Develop multimedia materials such as videos, photos, and infographics to support HFHIs communications. - Ensure the HFHI website and social media platforms are regularly updated with relevant content. Stakeholder Communication:
  • Coordinate communication efforts with donors, local partners, and government agencies to ensure alignment with HFHIs strategic goals.
  • Prepare communication materials for donor reports and stakeholder presentations, showcasing project impact and results.
Crisis Communication:
  • Develop and implement crisis communication plan to manage risks and protect HFHIs reputation in Ukraine.
  • Serve as the spokesperson in case of crises or emergencies, ensuring accurate and timely dissemination of information.
Internal Communication:
  • Support internal communication initiatives, ensuring HFHI staff and partners are informed about key developments and successes.
  • Collaborate with regional and global HFHI teams to align messaging and share best practices.
What do we require?
  • Bachelors degree in communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field. Masters degree preferred.
  • 5+ years in public relations, communications, or media management in humanitarian and/or development sector are highly preferred).
  • Experience with international organizations, donors, and government officials.
  • Fluency in English and Ukrainian.
  • Familiarity with post-conflict/development communications (a plus).
  • Excellent writing, editing, and content development skills (print, digital, social media).
  • Proficiency in media tools, CMS, and social media platforms.
  • Experience with photography/video/graphic design
